Vermont Lions Club (Inc)

District 201V5, Victoria, Australia

Welcome to the Vermont Lions Club in Victoria, Australia

Vermont Lions Club is located in Vermont, Victoria, Australia, an eastern suburb of Melbourne, approximately 20km from the CBD.

Our club was chartered in 1973, and we currently have about 20 members.

We are part of Lions District 201V5, which comprises about 65 clubs spread over a wide geographical area from south east of Melbourne to north eastern Victoria.

This District in turn is part of the Lions world-wide organisation with over 1.3 million members who are involved in helping those in the community less fortunate than themselves. We are dedicated to serving our local community by raising money and donating our time to carry out and support a wide range of community projects.   Every dollar raised goes back into the community. There are no deductions to cover administrative costs.

Letters to Father Christmas 2021

Letters to Father Christmas is a low-key project that allows children to receive a letter from Father Christmas at Christmas time, or to get a reply to a letter that they have written to him.  Vermont Lions provide the letters and suggestions on how to run the project. Clubs often join with the local schools who like to have the children write their own letter to Father Christmas. Children, teachers and Lions all share in the excitement when the answering letters from Father Christmas are delivered.

Some clubs charge parent or Grandparents to have their children receive a letter. Others don’t change and see it as a community service. Either way it provides good exposure for Lions in the community.

Lions Clubs order packages of blank letters from 10 different letters available, these can be ordered with or without envelopes.  The Club then organises a working bee to address the letters.
